La Roche Bénin (1979)
The very first company created by the Chagoury Group, La Roche was born from the fusion of two companies: Chagoury Frères et Compagnie (C.F.C) founded in 1979, and La Roche, founded in 1982.
Its main purpose was to provide construction professionals with the safest, highest-quality materials; by being a pioneer in its sector, La Roche participated in the development of the architecture industry in Bénin.
Getting involved in the sector by always trying to meet its customers’ growing needs, La Roche took interest in real estate, thus creating La Roche Immobilier, specialized in building and selling medium and high-class villas. In fact, by relying on its great experience in the construction materials sector, La Roche Immobilier offered to deliver turnkey villas.
La Roche has its headquarters in Cotonou, Bénin – Akpakpa, Porto-Novo road.

Agro – Roche (1987)
The company, specialized in agriculture, ventured in the industrial production of exportable teak wood, one of the hardest, strongest and most durable timbers. It is a premium-quality material in the manufacture of high-standing office and household furniture.
Agro-Roche owns one million (1,000,000) square meters of teak tree plantations, divided between two separate farms:
The Tori Cada farm, located 30km North-West of Bénin’s economic center Cotonou: 800,000 M² (2002)
The Ouedo farm, located 20km from Cotonou: 200,000 M² (2005)

Chafco (1987)
Chagoury Frères et Compagnie, created in 1987 in Lebanon, the Chagoury brothers’ home-country, is part of the same sector as La Roche: the importation and distribution of finishing materials such as tiles, sanitary ware and sanitary fittings.
The same experience, the same high quality, the same pro-active spirit as the African team has led Chafco to become an essential link in the Construction and Public Works sector in Lebanon.
Chafco has its headquarters in Centre Naaman, Haret Sakher – Jounieh.

Betra SARL (1988)
BETRA (Béninoise de Transformation) is a plastic-processing industrial company specialized in the manufacture of tubes and panel boxes. It has recently expanded its production, now manufacturing water tanks and reservoirs with a capacity of up to 5000 liters.
The Betra products being actually used in the construction industry, it is a privileged company as it benefits from the same distribution chains as La Roche.
BETRA has its headquarters in Cotonou, at PK11 on the Porto-Novo road.

Chaftel SARL (2000)
Telecom
Specialized in mobile telecommunication, Chaftel sells mobile recharge, leading brand mobile phones and accessories. It is nowadays the largest MTN official distributor, which is the leading mobile network in Bénin. With headquarters in Ganhi, the business district of Cotonou,the company spread out to the biggest cities of the country and is now the biggest GSM store.
Food and Beverage Industry
Through its other department, La Cave a Vins, Chaftel imports and distributes foods, beverages, wine and name-brand juices, providing their clientele with a large, diverse selection.
La Cave a Vins is located right next to the GSM store.

Founded in 2004, the Nigerian company specializes in both the construction materials distribution and real estate. Nigeria and its one hundred and fifty million people (150,000,000) constitutes a great market for the company to invest in.

The latest company of the group, the Société West Africaine pour l’Investissement (SOWAFI BENIN) is specialized in the hospitality industry. Its flagship is the construction and the management of a four-star hotel and a shopping mall with 160 shops and offices in the heart of Cotonou. With efforts being made towards increasing the touristic visits to Bénin, this projects is part of a governmental will to broaden its economy.
